Amanda Haverman - Enters her second year as an assistant coach with the Norfolk State softball program during the 2012 season, following a 2011 campaign in which the Spartans dramatically improved their offensive prowess under her guidance.
Haverman, who oversees NSU’s hitters, turned the team’s fortunes around in 2011. As a team, the Spartans hit 43 points higher than the previous season, finishing the year with a .294 average.
Prior to her arrival in Norfolk, Haverman spent two years at Virginia Intermont College during the 2009 and ’10 campaigns as the assistant softball coach.
The Lady Cobras posted a winning record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference during both seasons Haverman was there, with the team advancing all the way to the championship game in 2010 before falling short against Union College.  Under Haverman’s coaching, the Lady Cobras finished first in the conference in home runs in 2010 and 16th in the nation among all NAIA schools.
Haverman came to Virginia Intermont after a four-year career at East Tennessee State from 2005-08. While there, she was a two-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic honoree her junior and senior seasons and broke the school’s single-season record for RBI during her junior year in 2007.  She earned All-Atlantic Sun first team honors in 2007 at designated player after tying the single-game record for hits and posting a team-best nine multi-RBI games during her junior campaign. Haverman was also a preseason All-Atlantic Sun selection at designated hitter prior to her senior year in 2008.

Dorian Shaw - After completing a phenomenal collegiate career at University of Michigan where she was awarded the U-M Academic-Athletic Achievement award in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 for academic and athletic success, Shaw was selected in the first round of 2011 NPF (National Pro Fastpitch) Senior Draft with the fourth overall selection by the Chicago Bandits. In the summer of 2011, Shaw appeared in 18 games with the Bandits, recording five hits including a double and two home runs along with four RBI.
In her four years at University of Michigan, Shaw was able to achieve incredible success both on and off the field. In 2011, her final year at University of Michigan, Shaw was a Lowe's Senior Class Award Finalist, USA Player of the Year top 25 Finalist, Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree and team captain. Shaw was also named NFCA All-Great Lakes Region second team as a first baseman. Shaw completed her senior season by hitting .365 with 12 home runs and 10 doubles.
As a junior in 2010, Shaw hit a career high .362, scoring 41 runs and driving in 60. She was named a second team All-American, second team All-Big Ten selection and NFCA All-Great Lakes Region first team first baseman. She was also awarded with the Phyllis Ocker Scholarship (awarded to a female varsity athlete enrolled in Sports Management or Physical Education who has distinguished herself in athletics and academics).  Shaw led the Wolverines in 2009 to a 47-12 record by leading the team with 14 home runs in 56 starts at first base. This followed a freshman campaign in 2008 where Shaw was a unanimous All-Big Ten first team selection after hitting 11 home runs and tallying seven game-winning hits.

Mandi Balduf - Head Coach at Chowan Universtiy. In Chowan’s first season playing in the CIAA (2010), Balduf guided her program to a CIAA West Division Championship, a CIAA Championship, and NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament appearance. The squad was perfect in CIAA play at 18-0 in 2010. In 2009, she led the Hawks to a 30-23 overall record. She coached four players to All-CIAA honors, while also producing four NCCAA All-South Region Players, and one NCCAA All American. The Chowan softball team also was named the CIAA's Highest Team GPA for their respective sport that season. Balduf was named the National Christian College Athletic Association's South Region Softball Coach of the Year. She guided her team to a 2009 NCCAA South Region Championship, the program's second title since 2005.
Balduf has been an assistant at several successful programs, most notably at Tiffin University. She was hired by Tiffin University in August of 2004 where she helped the Dragons to three consecutive American Mideast Conference North Titles and two consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances. In 2006 the Dragons posted a 57-11 record and won the Region IX Championship of the NAIA tournament. Along with her coaching duties at Tiffin, Balduf also served as a Graduate Admissions Representative and worked to receive her M.B.A.

Erica Ayers - begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Georgetown University softball program, after spending her previous nine years as an assistant softball coach at George Mason University.  At Georgetown, Ayers is mainly responsible for developing the Hoyas' hitters and infielders. She also serves as the recruiting coordinator.
At George Mason, Ayers assisted in all aspects of the program, focusing her on-field efforts on working with the team's hitters and infielders, while serving as the team's camp director and travel coordinator off the field. Ayers helped develop one Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, seven first team All CAA selections and six second team All CAA selections. Additionally, she has helped develop two Virginia Players of the Year, two first team All Mid-Atlantic Region players and two second team all region selections.
Prior to joining the Patriots' coaching staff, Ayers spent four seasons, three as team captain, at second base and shortstop for GMU. She started 189 games and finished her career with a .286 batting average, 25 doubles and 66 RBI. During her senior season in 2000, Ayers led the team with a .343 batting average, and was second on the squad with 25 RBI. She holds the Patriots single-season record for games played (63) and times being hit-by-pitch (16), and is fourth with 59 hits.
After college, Ayers was selected as an Amateur Softball Association of America first team women's class B All American (ASA) shortstop in 2001. In 2003, Ayers was a member of the ASA women's class A Virginia Legends national championship team.In her tenure, the Spartans have reached the Southern Conference Championship title game for the first time in school history and have produced 11 All-Southern Conference selections and 19 Academic All-SoCon selections.

Keith Parr - as overseen an amazing era in CNU softball history, as the Captains have become one of the elite programs in the nation. The 2010 CNU squad finished 42-10 under Parr, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's final eight. It was the best record and most successful post-season performance in program history.CNU finished the year ranked #5 in the nation.
It didn’t take long for Parr to make a big splash in Division III softball after he took over the program from Paul Weiss, whom he had assisted for several years. In his first year as head coach of the Christopher Newport program, in 2004, Parr directed his team to a 36-7 record, the best in school history at the time. The Captains were ranked in the Top 25 in the nation most of the year, at one point as high as sixth. CNU swept to the USA South regular season championship with a 15-1 record. For his efforts he was named conference Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm. He also received the same honor from the Virginia Sports Information Directors for Divisions II and III in Virginia.
In 2007, Parr directed the Captains back to the NCAA Tournament and a 34-10 record. In the first round of the event CNU defeated the defending Division III national champions, Rutgers- Camden, 10-3. Along with the outstanding record, Parr had a chance to help in the development of two All-America players. Dallas Slosjarik was named first team All-America by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the first time CNU has had a first team pick. Lauren Batson earned second team honors, also a first at CNU.
Parr graduated in 1999 from Christopher Newport with a degree in Recreation, Sports, and Wellness Management. He had been an assistant under former head coach Paul Weiss for four years. The CNU graduate and former baseball player helped lead the Lady Captains to a 131-38-2 record during those seasons. That was the most successful four-year stretch in CNU softball history at the time.

Jen Steele - enters her first year at Longwood University as an Assistant Softball Coach. Steele, a former all-American softball player at Longwood University, returns to the Lancers after serving two years at George Mason University in a similar roleSteele served as the pitching coach for the Patriots, as well as the lead recruiting coordinator. She mentored two all-rookie team pitchers in 2011, and guided the largest pitching staff in Mason’s history.  Prior to her time with the Patriots, Steele served as the head coach at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA.  During her three seasons at Randolph College, the Wild Cats made two consecutive trips to the ODAC Tournament, including the programs first ever appearance in 2008. The team improved every season, and in 2010 broke the previous season's win mark with 21 victories. 
Led by 2009 ODAC Coach of the Year, the Wild Cats broke several individual school records and earned individual post-season awards this past season. Lindsay Cross '10 (2009 ODAC Player of the Year) broke the school's career hits, doubles, and RBI records. Nikki Smith '10 finished as the school's all-time leader in home runs (21). Brittany Willingham '13 broke the school's single season marks in hits, doubles, and runs scored in just her first season of play at Randolph. 
A Virginia native, Steele spent two years (2005-2007) as the assistant softball coach at Smith College in Massachusetts. She graduated from Smith with a master's degree in exercise and sports studies.  As the assistant coach at Smith, Steele served as the head pitching coach, with additional responsibilities in recruiting, practice planning, fundraising, budgeting, and game-day coaching.
Steele's coaching experience also includes working as an assistant coach for the Fire & Ice 18 and under club team in Sterling, Virginia, as well as working as a clinician at numerous camps and clinics throughout Virginia and Massachusetts.
Steele was a four-year starter for the Longwood University Lancers. A stand-out as a pitcher, designated hitter, and third baseman, Steele was named the Carolinas-Virginia Conference (CVAC) Freshman of the Year as well as a two-time first-team All-CVAC honoree. Steele's accolades also include NCAA Division I All-American and All-Academic recognition. Steele graduated from Longwood in 2005 with a degree in communication studies.
